In the GIL Library Hub, you can borrow books, DVDs, magazines, large print, talking books and much more! We also have a number of community spaces we welcome you to use. Private rooms require bookings (see below) otherwise we welcome you to pop in and utilise our open spaces.
We also provide a number of services for the community, including computer access, Wi-Fi, online databases and printing services. We have a small local history collection.
At the GIL Library Hub we deliver a number of activities and events for the young and young at heart. These include; Lego Club, Tech Club, Storytime, Rhyme time, Little Steam Saturdays, Book Club, Point Blank Writers Group and more. The GIL Library Hub, located in the centre of Gilgandra's main street, has 3 bookable spaces available. We welcome you to book these spaces, or drop in and use our communal spaces (on a first in basis).

Joining the Library and borrowing is FREE! All you need is identification that shows your name, address and signature e.g. a drivers licence or health care card. People under 18 need to be enrolled by a parent or guardian.
Initially, you can borrow up to four items at a time. When you have returned these loans three times, you can move on to borrow up to 15 items at a time.
We offer something for everyone including free computer and wifi access! You can borrow off the shelf or online from our wide collection of books, audiobooks, magazines and more!
Gilgandra Shire Library is a branch of North Western Library, and you can search the North Western Library Catalogue here. Items are to be returned through the returns chute at the front of the building.
eBooks and eAudiobooks are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week….and they’re FREE for all library members!
