For an enchanting wander, head to the Windmill Walk along the banks of the Castlereagh River.

The walk will take you between the Gilgandra CBD (Miller Street) and the Gilgandra Cultural Precinct. The two kilometre (one-way) walk showcases lots of native fauna and flora as well as a number of newly-refurbished windmills that once operated within Gilgandra. The recent beautification of the Windmill Walk centres on the natural beauty of the Castlereagh River flowing through Gilgandra and is enhanced through art with a celebration of cultural recognition and history. These windmills are decorated with artworks by our local disability services, and bring bold, vibrant colour to the walk.

There is also picnic facilities and the entire walk is pet friendly.
