Gilgandra Shire Council (GSC) is offering 10 overnight parking spaces to Caravans, RVs and self-contained vans under a trial period.

The overnight parking areas have a maximum stay limit of 48 hours and require users to book.

Guests must meet the definition of fully self-contained to utilise these areas. To be considered fully self-contained, vehicles must be fitted with on-board facilities such as toilets and sinks, and carry a supply of fresh water and retain all grey and black waste water. These on-board facilities cannot be a separate item; they must be manufactured as part of the vehicle and plumbed in. If a vehicle does not meet these criteria, guests will need to use established caravan parks or motels.

Please note, camping in tents or sleeping in cars is not permitted at this overnight parking area.

Bookings:

Bookings are required prior to stay. Bookings can be made online at https://gilgandraregion.com.au/directory/overnight-parking or at the Coo-ee Heritage and Visitor Information Centre (CHC).

Booking are available on a per-night basis and are capped at a maximum of 48 hours.

All users are required to pick up a welcome pack from the CHC including their printed permit. This permit needs to be displayed in the windscreen of the booked vehicle for the duration of the stay in the overnight parking area. Any vehicle without a permit displayed will be asked to produce the permit or relocate.

Parking:

Vehicles must park in the designated space, provided at the time of booking confirmation. Space within the zone is as per a first-come, first-served basis. Guests are required to be considerate and give ample space to other users already parked in the space.

Any vehicles parked outside the designated space will be asked to relocate.

Property Use:

Guests must comply with these terms and conditions for the use of the Property.

GSC allows the use of the Property for short term parking only. Any other proposed use of the Property, such as for an event or commercial purpose will require prior written approval from GSC.

If GSC becomes aware of any breach of these terms before or during the booking period GSC reserves the right to require guests to vacate the Property, and may make the site available to other guests.

Changes and Cancellations of Booking by Guests:

Cancellations or changes to booking dates require notice and reconfirmation by GSC.

Changes, Cancellations and Terminations of Booking by GSC:

GSC may temporarily close the parking area during the trial period for other operational needs, including but not limited to, events in the space. Bookings will not be taken whilst the area is closed and users will not be able to enter the designated space.

Unforeseen operational issues and management obligations including but not limited to extreme weather events, fire and natural disasters may mean that the booking cannot be provided. In these instances the booking will be cancelled. GSC will not be liable for any other losses guests may incur as a result of this cancellation.

GSC may terminate the booking during a guest stay at the Property, by asking guests to leave the park immediately, if guests:

• breach any legislation;
• breach these terms and conditions;
• cause annoyance or nuisance to others; or
• behave unacceptably including drunken or uncontrolled behaviour, offensive language, malicious or negligent use of facilities, theft or any other form of behaviour deemed inappropriate by GSC.

Unaccompanied minors and under 18 years old:

Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult such as a parent, step-parent, guardian or other adult who has parental rights and responsibilities.

If guests are found to be under the age of 18 and not accompanied by a responsible adult, GSC reserves the right to immediately cancel the booking.

Fires:

The overnight parking area is strictly fire-free. Users are not to ignite any fires (e.g. campfires) under any circumstances.

Pets:

Certified assistance animals are allowed at the property. Other pets and domestic animals may be allowed at the property with prior approval from GSC on booking. Pets and domestic animals must not be left unattended or unrestrained at the Property.

Belongings:

Any monies, valuables, goods or vehicles that belong to guests which are brought into the Property remain the responsibility of that guest. GSC is not responsible for their safekeeping and will not replace damaged, lost or stolen items.

Privacy:

Your personal information will be held and used in accordance with Our Privacy Management Plan and Guidelines.

Your Responsibilities:

You are responsible and liable for the actions of you and your guests at the Property, for the duration of the booking. You must ensure you and all your guests comply with these terms and conditions, as well as any additional conditions specified on notices provided.

You and your guests may be required to provide photo ID (including proof of age) to confirm your booking. If you are requested to provide photo ID and you are unable or unwilling to do so, your booking may be cancelled.

GSC expects you to use the Property reasonably. GSC reserves the right to invoice or charge fees if the Property is damaged, left in an unreasonable or unsatisfactory condition, and/or Property items are broken or lost.
